I used Hello Peter reviews in my decision to use Universal Roofing and was not disappointed. Great quotation process and received the quote the next day. Stanley the CEO visited my home for the quote. Was detailed in his quote and explained the work needed in detail. Rob the foreman on the job was excellent in keeping me updated daily. The team were professional and kept the areas neat. Had balcony 130sqm tiles removed, waterproffed and retailed. Had 150sqm flat roof areas waterproofed. Had roof inspected and damaged tiles replaced. Pricing wad around 20 percent more,than other quotes but worth the hassle free experience.

Within days of requesting a quote and approval; Jan and his team were on-site forging ahead with the maintenance. My interaction with all the people that I engaged with was great. The work was completed on-time and the site was left clean and tidy. With the work being done in December I was never left with the impression that this was a rush job.

From the first communication with Universal Roofing, Vanessa and Caroline who booked and organized the project, made sure everyone and every part of the procedure on the admin side was first-rate.
Keith came out and assessed the situation and a quote was sent immediately. Next, 4 people in charge of various sections of work, came with their specialized and trained teams for each part of the job. Different aspects of the roof had to be repaired, and then ceilings replaced, repaired or repainted. A major operation for us, but is was so well coordinated by this excellent firm.
As the team synchronized the procedures, each stage was accompanied by polite, friendly, helpful and remarkable workmen. As we had our own agenda to prepare for this new year of therapy, we were busy in the rooms and having to go through the past and under ladders most of the time. They helped us to proceed with as much assistance as possible.
They carried out each part of the procedure with knowledge and efficiency; they were careful to remove items such as our computers, copiers, files, books, etcetera and covered everything with precision and care. They cleaned up after they were finished each day, leaving tools and surfaces carefully well looked after.
The respect and the team work of the whole group was a pleasure to observe. The persons in charge were readily available at all times and if required, came to the site to help out on any queries.
I have had many people work on the roof at this practice over the years. I have had rains leaking in, water accumulating, wood rotting and a slow insidious feeling of deterioration ever present. The house feels like new and the energy is positive and motivating.

The fuss was well worth it
We had a roof leak on a shallow sloped tile roof which had been attended to a few years ago. (Say 4yrs ago). We weren’t happy with the proposed solution in Jan 2019 so we asked for senior management attention. Stanley came out with his people to have a look. He was very passionate about his business and very decisive. A new solution was adopted and his A-Team were sent to take on the task. The job was done with great attention to detail and finished off like a pro. We have since had three storms – hail, wind and torrents of rain. The new roof section has stood up well – no sign of leaks or stress. Thank you Stanley.

Working with Universal Roofing to waterproof the roof was a pleasure .
Asking for a quote was met with almost an immediate response. An inspection was done noting all the roof issues as well as inside touch up as a result of previous leaks. There was no issue scheduling and re-scheduling the job (due to potential rain). When the site manager arrived, all the work on the quote was reviewed so a full understanding of what was on the quote was not lost in translation when it came to doing the job. There were a few delays to the work starting but they were communicated so no issue there. When on site, the guys working were very pleasant. They cleaned up after themselves everyday so no mess was left lying around. When working inside, the guys took care not to damage walls etc with ladders and made a plan to not mark the walls. The job was completed in a reasonable amount of time. The cost was not cheap but i feel it was in line with the market. So all in all the experience was excellent. I would certainly work with the team again. The real proof though will be once the rains come and there are no leaks. Should there be any leaks and rework required, hopefully the guarantee will be honoured.

Dankie aan Mnr F Smit en sy span van twee wat op 4 en 5 Augustus 2008 die werk kom klaarmaak het wat agterweë gebly het toe die vorige werkspan op 26 Julie 2008 “klaar gemaak” het.
Dit het behels dat ‘n lekplek op die sinkdakgedeelte wat steeds gelek het weer herstel moes word, dat ‘n strook ou digtingsmateriaal wat nie vervang is nie, vervang moes word, dat digtingsmateriaal wat nie korrek teenaan die borsworing aan die Suidekant aangebring is nie, reg gemaak moes word, dat ‘n geuthaak wat ten tyde van die eerste span se werk gebreek het, vervang moes word en dat die slordige verfwerk aan die Noordekant reggemakk moes word.
Mnr Smit se span is netjies gedoen.
